Obama showed his regret on CNN in December of 2016, and was quoted by BBC in July 2015 regarding the “distressing” inability to pass gun control.
Well, thank goodness that he wasn’t able to destroy the 2nd Amendment, but I can tell you this, he should regret the fact that he totally destroyed the American healthcare system, and lit the fire that has the middle east burning to this date.
But alas, this past week, he highlighted his noted regrets once again, this ti,e in an op-ed piece . After laying out numerous things that he ‘perceives’ as positive achievements–such as decimating the coal industry, pulling out of Iraq (and helping ISIS get a foothold), pulling out of Afghanistan (which he really hasn’t done) , and securing Obamacare (an abject failure), Obama wrote this:
Still, through every victory and every setback, I’ve insisted that change is never easy, and never quick; that we wouldn’t meet all of our challenges in one term, or one presidency, or even in one lifetime. And for all that we’ve achieved, there’s still so much I wish we’d been able to do, from enacting gun safety measures to protect more of our kids and our cops from mass shootings like Newtown, to passing commonsense immigration reform that encourages the best and brightest from around the world to study, stay, and create jobs in America.
Whether or not a gun control group or an individual gun control advocate like Obama brings up the topic, it is easy to see that a gun law would not have stopped the Newtown, Connecticut attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School. It is especially easy to fathom that the gun control laws that President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and many senators pushed in the wake of Sandy Hook would have done absolutely nothing to stop another Sandy Hook type incident from happening.
Also, if Trump makes the right moves on the Supreme Court we won’t have to revisit this issue for a long time. Let’s repeal these stupid gun laws and reaffirm the Constitution once and for all!
