President Donald Trump isn’t the only one who’s tired of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s ineffective leadership. Now Fox News’ Sean Hannity has come out with sharp words for the failing senator.
McConnell caught the ire of the president after saying that Trump had “excessive expectations” for the lawmaking process, sparking a feud between the two that could cost the majority leader his job.
Hannity wasn’t having it, calling McConnell’s words “beyond believable.”
The Fox host said that McConnell had been living in the “swamp” that is Washington, D.C., for “way too long,” arguing that it was actually McConnell who set those “excessive expectations.”
Hannity called McConnell out, saying that the senator “promised over and over and over again over seven years” that he would repeal and replace Obamacare.
“You couldn’t even get the ‘skinny’ repeal done,” Hannity said.
Hannity said that McConnell is “whining like a ten-year-old girl” and trying to blame all of his failures on the president.
“If you can’t get it done,” Hannity went on, “get out of the way. Retire, leave Washington, go play golf, do fishing.”
