This will blow your mind. Buckle up, because everything is going to hell in a hand basket.
The liberal obsession with “equality” has recently taken a very strange turn… and it will actually make the next Olympics unfair.
The International Olympic Committee announced that the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea won’t have any sex or gender standards for the athletes, says the The Daily Caller.
Yes. You read that right.
This means that athletes can compete in whatever gender category they wish — which includes biologically stronger and faster men competing with women for Olympic medals.
“[T]here will be no regulations in place at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 as we are still awaiting the resolution of the Dutee Chand case,” the committee said in an email given to The Daily Caller.
Dutee Chand is an Indian sprinter who was once suspended from competitions because of her hyperandrogenism, a hormonal condition that gives her a testosterone advantage over other female competitors.
Another athlete who might have the same condition is Caster Semenya, who is a middle distance runner from South Africa. She won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics, but her extremely high testosterone levels made the other female athletes question her eligibility.
“These kind of people should not run with us,” said Italian runner Elisa Cusma, as reported by The New York Times. “For me, she is not a woman. She is a man.”
Men have far greater testosterone levels than women. This gives them an edge in many fast-paced athletic events. Common sense tell us this, and science backs it up.
“Testosterone, found in both men and women has been linked with increased muscle, bone mass, and competitive drive. The average male produces much more of it than the average female, roughly 35 nmol/L. Women usually produce less than 3 nmol/L,” reported The Daily Caller, using U.S. National Library of Medicine studies.
International Association of Athletics Federations experts have said that even though some women have higher testosterone levels than others, no healthy female has anywhere near the average male levels.
“Sweden-based Professor Martin Ritzén, a specialist in pediatric endocrinology, testified on behalf of the IAAF and said the probability of a healthy woman reaching 10 nmol/L of testosterone was ‘zero,’” The Daily Caller went on to say.
In other words, the segregation of male and female competitors in games like the Olympics is based squarely on science, and lets women to be recognized and rewarded for their athletic achievements while allowing for the fact that physical differences exist.
However, intersex and transgender competitors can have testosterone levels that are far closer to normal male levels.
It isn’t that far-fetched to predict that male athletes who aren’t good enough to win declare themselves “transgender” so they can enter and win women’s events.
This has already taken place at the high school level. A runner named Andraya Yearwood was born a boy, but recently competed and won as a girl in the Connecticut state track finals.
TheBlaze reported that the “trans identifying” Yearwood left his… er, her… female competitors far behind, and in tears.
In the name of “fairness,” the left seems dead set on walking over everyone who doesn’t play along with their social justice experiments. The spirit of sport is based on a level playing field — but performance-enhancing testosterone being allowed for the sake of “equality” skews the competition in one direction.
Will even more women now be defeated by men who choose to identify as women in order to win medals? If the 2018 Winter Olympics is any indication, the answer is yes.
Do we see how chaotic leftist ideas become? If you just give them enough space and time to play out, they lead to irrationality and chaos. It’s ironic that the liberal left is all about feminism on one hand, but the other hand will destroy it by something like this, which would allow males to come in and snatch up all the medals. You’d think that at some point, liberals would see that they can’t have their cake and eat it too.
