During her podcast, Laura Ingraham shared and discussed some of the reactions she had from her listeners concerning the deal President Trump made with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi about the DACA program.
According to the conservative talker, her audience was not too pleased that the president chose to make a deal over staying true to his campaign promises and program. “Betrayal”, “disappointment” and even a call for “primary” Trump were some of the words used by the radio listeners, and Ingraham said it loud and clear that their voices “are being heard” and that their “comments are being heard.”
“Look, we have to primary senators.” Laura stated. “Maybe we’re going to have to primary this president in 2020. We thought he was a conservative populist. We thought he was a nationalist on issues of immigration. If he is not, then we’re going to have to find someone who is.”
Laura continued making the case that this was the time and a great opportunity for the president to show his conviction and establish himself as the man people had voted him to be. If he would go to just advocate and do everything he said he would in his campaign, this would make him the people’s champion and greatly increase the populous’ satisfaction with his job. On the other hand, Ingraham said that “He’s never going to please the DREAMers. He’s never going to please the Democrats. Even if he does a deal with the Democrats on the DREAMers, they’re not going to like him. They’re just going to use him.”
